Listen "Dr. Robert A Saul: Conscious Parenting | Raising Parents #10"
Episode Synopsis
How many of us have subconsciously set a standard of how your child should behave? If you have, chances are you’re not alone. Some parents have desires for their child’s life even before they’re born whether it's wanting your child to live a good life or to go to college when they get older. Conscious parenting aims to teach us to understand that our expectations may not be the reality.
In this week’s episode our host, Dina Sargeant is joined by Pediatrician and author, Dr Robert A. Saul, who specializes in teaching parents to raise children to be a positive influence in society. He has studied and practiced his teachings for over 40 years, publishing four books on raising children.
Dr. Saul talks about his previous work with children, professionally and personally, and how important it is to first be emotionally self-aware as an individual before being a parent. They talk about how allowing a child to be a child can create a healthy environment for growth, while also teaching them skills of mindfulness at an early age.
