Listen "Athina Saraya: Impact of Screen-time on Children’s Development | Raising Parents #6"
Episode Synopsis
Studies show that two-thirds of parents in the U.S. feel parenting is harder today, with many technological devices developed in this era. Digital exposure affects the cognitive development of our children, and often worries parents about the impact screen time has on their child's behavior.
In this episode of Raising Parents: Parenting Science Insights Podcast, host Dina Sargeant is joined by Athina Saraya, a lecturer in the psychology department concerning human lifespan development, especially on children at Hasanuddin University, and also a children practitioner for 3 years. Athina highlights the importance of a parent's role as a rule-maker at home and gives an instance to the children of our screen-time behavior. She also shares some practical tips we can do to give understanding about how we should work with screen, and answers some questions from the audiences.
