THE INQUISITIVE TONGUE  Host Nanette Wiser welcomed Tampa Bay Times senior food/dining critic Helen Freund to studio to dish on Tampa Bay's Top 50 Restaurants, TBT's new Food Hub debuting in January, national/local dining trends and her love of cooking.  At Floridian Social on  11/11, Michelle Stark, Helen Freund and a panel celebrated the highly anticipated issue, the biggest rank list yet. It's no small feat, requiring months of research, reporting, writing and editing. Published in Weekend on 11/12, it's a feast for the eyes and the perfect side dish to enjoying the best of the Tampa Bay's neighborhoods and events.  In addition to writing about restos, food trends and dining culture, Freund's deep dives into culinary issues are both engaging and educational. Before moving to Florida in 2019 to join the Times, she was the restaurant critic and dining editor at Gambit Weekly, an alternative newspaper in New Orleans, a freelance features writer and a criminal justice reporter at The Times Picayune. Originally from the Pacific Northwest, she attended culinary school at Le Cordon Bleu in Paris and studied journalism at the University of Washington.
