Listen "Beloved Torpedo Factory Artist Moves to Maine: Artist Sheep Jones"
Episode Synopsis
Sheep Jones is much beloved by art collectors across the United States. Raised in Waterville, Maine, she was affiliated for many years with the acclaimed Torpedo Factory Art Center in Alexandria, Virginia. When her husband, Charlie, died in his early 60’s, Sheep returned to Maine, to be near her sister, Julie Cyr (also an artist), in coastal Belfast. Following Julie’s death due to cancer in December 2019, Sheep once again restructured her life to spend more time with her sons and grandchildren. She now alternates between their homes in California and Texas, and her own in Belfast, while maintaining art studios in each location. Join our conversation about art, resilience, and their intertwining, today on Radio Maine.
