The Sarawak Indigenous Advocacy Organization (APS) claiming that recent logging activities mentioned by Save River will affect the livelihood of the people of Baram. APS Executive Director Nigel Raymond stated that logging companies have greatly contributed to building roads, sending Baram children to school, and providing job opportunities.
Jack Jau from Long Panai, is get shock by the above statement.
Jack argues that APS does not represent any community in Baram. The Baram People are unfamiliar with Nigel Raymond and APS, and unaware of their activities. Suddenly, they emerge with a statement that strongly favors YB Dennis Ngau and the logging company.
Jack does not deny that logging companies provide some job opportunities, but the environmental damage caused by logging activities is beyond imagination. The people of Baram should be cautious in supporting certain NGOs that suddenly appear and claim to represent the interests of Baram's residents.
