Listen "Model Minority Myth"
Episode Synopsis
In this episode, we discuss the “model minority myth” with a special guest, Tania Ullah. Tania is a Muslim-American woman with roots in South Asia. The model minority myth is often attributed to a demographic whose members are seen as achieving higher levels of success than the average population. The topics we discussed included intersection of identities (racial, religious, professionals in our career, etc), how it plays into the system of white supremacy, hurts BIPOC, and what we see as the future of this myth.
