Listen "Once Saved Always Saved?"
Episode Synopsis
I think typically when this debate comes up in conversation it is initiated by someone who is worried about stumbling. So, let's get that off the table even before we begin the debate. We all sin! I think that your response to sin is the deciding factor. Do you sin in defiance? Do you have regrets? Do you want to fix what you did wrong? The fact that a person is worried enough to ask the question is a good sign! That person's response should be to confess to Christ and ask for forgiveness, which is freely given.
The format of this Podcast is a little different. It presents the debate. Each person assuming one side of the argument. Does it ultimately answer the question? I'm not sure. Hopefully it will get you thinking though. I can't speak to your particular situation. What I can say about mine is in how I personally respond to my own sin and what I know and understand about the forgiveness and grace of Jesus. I am confident in my salvation. I hate that sin is still part of my life and challenges. I cringe at the thought that each sin is like taking that hammer and striking one of the nails upon which Jesus hung on my behalf. I know that is a potent image but believe me, it helps me in moments of temptation.
