Placing our children on a pedestal and idolizing their performance is not a healthy culture for them physically or mentally. The culture of sports illustrates this destructive behavior better than anything else. Setting them on a worldly pedestal is setting them up for a fall. Dr. Jonny explains that parents have to navigate the tricky waters of being proud of our kids but not attaching pride to our kids while helping them find their true identity.
