God has called us to seek wisdom and understanding. He has equipped us to gain wisdom and understanding through both His word and directly through Him. When we make decisions from our emotions or flesh we are most likely not operating in the wisdom in which God called us.
To God belong wisdom and power; counsel and understanding are His.
Job 12:13

Blessed is the one who finds wisdom, and the one who gets understanding, for the gain from her is better than gain from silver and her profit better than gold.
