We find ourselves in a destructive spiral. It is mostly the fault of the dishonest hardliners on the right. I will not call them conservatives, for they have co-opted and corrupted mainstream, movement conservatism. These hardliners are fueled by lies. The bigger, the better. Because they have no shame, they’ll say and do anything. And they are in turn fueled by polemic media. In today’s commentary, I suggest we turn off the cable news, internet, social media, and talk radio. By partaking in the very things that raise our blood pressure, we are ensuring an unhealthy country, and are damaging our own personal health to boot. The only to make it stop, is stop consuming it.
