Listen "American Resources’ ReElement Technologies achieves Ultra-High-Purity Germanium for defence"
Episode Synopsis
American Resources Corp CEO Mark Jensen joined Steve Darling to announce that its subsidiary, ReElement Technologies Corporation, has successfully developed commercial protocols to produce ultra-high-purity germanium from both recycled and ore-based feedstocks.
The company has achieved greater than 99.9% purity and engineered its commercial processes to meet growing demand for germanium products with purities between 99.9% and 99.999%. Jensen explained that germanium is an essential semiconductor material used in electronics, infrared optics, fiber optics, solar cells, and catalysts. Its unique properties make it critical for high-speed, high-frequency applications, including SiGe alloys in advanced integrated circuits. While silicon has replaced germanium in many devices, the material remains indispensable for specialized commercial and defense technologies.
Recent months have seen the company receive numerous recycled and ore-based feedstocks, which were used to create scalable commercial flow sheets aimed at partnering with feedstock providers and customers requiring refined germanium now. Over the next year, ReElement plans to scale production at its Marion facility and at partner sites worldwide through its collaborative partnership model.
