Satyavan has told Savitri how much she means to him. Now Savitri tells Satyavan how much she loves him, and how important their marriage is. Hand in hand they return home through the forest, as afternoon turns to evening. They are met along the way by a great resplendent company which has come to bring them all back to their palace in their kingdom. Death has kept his promises. Satyavan’s father’s sight has been restored, and his kingdom has been returned to him. In the light of flaming torches, in a high-roofed chariot, Satyavan and Savitri ride back to the many-voiced human world, hearing a marriage march and nuptial hymn.
