Relational holiness takes precedence over behavioral holiness. Ephesians 2:8-10 says, “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God…. For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” So not only is salvation itself an indescribable gift of grace, but also the very abilities to obey God, do good works, and produce fruit – these all come only by grace as well, through our resurrected relationship with Him.
