A quick online search will give you the stock image of a menacing figuring in a hoodie, hands poised over a keyboard, holed up in a dark room. But the reality is that the hacker mold is not -one-size-fits-all. And the impact and scope of these diverse actors is as varied as their motives.

With our lives increasingly migrating online and exposed to cyber attacks, it's more important now than ever to get our heads aroud how hackers - the good and the bad -  fit into the puzzle.
