Listen "Coming Out with Jillian Abby"
Episode Synopsis
Jill had a happy, healthy 20-year relationship with her college sweetheart, two wonderful kids, and a rescue cat from the Humane Society. They lived in a nice suburban home with a white picket fence and owned a small bar that was rated one of the "Best Mom and Pop" businesses in Tampa Bay. From the outside everything looked "perfect". As Pride Month begins, this episode is a reminder that everyone deserves the same love and respect that you and I expect for ourselves. Jillian was a married mother to two amazing kids when, at the age of 38 she came to finally accept that she was, in fact, a lesbian. Her book, Perfectly Queer: Facing Big Fears, Living Hard Truths, and Loving Myself Fully Out of the Closet is a number one bestseller and tells the story of how an overachieving, "perfect" child finally came to accept her whole truth. In the episode Jill and I talk about coming out, whether it's to family, friends, co-workers or anyone else and how we can all be kinder, if not allies. Also, as a side note, her social media is fire! Instagram FacebookTik-TokLife and Love in the Q podcast.
