Listen "MAY OUR EARS & MOUTHS BE OPENED: 23rd Sunday OTB"

Episode Synopsis

Send us a textIn the 1st reading Isaiah says that the eyes of the blind shall be opened, the ears of the deaf unsealed, and the tongues of the dumb sing for joy; These St James says in the second reading are those who are poor in the world but rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom.  In the Gospel, Jesus put his fingers into a man’s ears and touched his tongue with spittle. Then he said to him, ‘Ephphatha’, that is, ‘Be opened'. By these actions, actions which are also used in the Sacrament of Baptism, Jesus opened the eyes, ears and losened the tongues of all the baptised - his followers to listen to word of God & proclaim it to the ends of the earth. Brothers and sisters, let us  not be silent witnesses or "Cafeteria" or "restaurant" Christians who sit back idly and watch the devil and his agents proclaim & promote with impunity vices rather than virtues, values of greed, selfishness,  materialism & even immortality. Let us recognize that Christ has chosen us the weak, the poor, those without capacity to proclaim His Kingdom of love.  May Christ’s touch bring us the docility to listen to the Word of Life and the couragement to pronounce what we have heard in word and deed; AmenSupport the show
