Listen "Skip the Small Talk"
Episode Synopsis
Your listeners are listening because they want your content. So, get to the conversation as quickly as possible. It’s fine to introduce yourself as the host, as well as welcome your guest or guests, but then dive directly into the conversation. Too many podcasters fall into the trap of treating the beginning of their show like a personal Zoom call. They talk about what they had for lunch, or what’s going on with their pet. It’s fine to insert personal details into the conversation if they are relevant, but if you are constantly starting your show with small talk about your life, it’s a turn off and listeners are going to tune out.
