What does Jesus want for his church? What does he desire for the saved? The answer is found in his prayer in John 17. He prays for the things his followers need most. Reading his prayer a while back inspired me to write a simple prayer and worship song based on Jesus' prayer in hopes the church would join him in praying for what matters most. I pray you will be moved by it and encouraged in your faith.
Holy Father
Verse 1:
Holy Father, protect your church
By the power of your name
That they may be one as you are one
With the Spirit and with the Son

Verse 2:
Holy Father, give your church
Within their spirits, within their souls
The full measure of your joy
Through the Spirit and through the Son

Verse 3:
Holy Father, make your church
Completely holy by the truth
Sanctify them by your word
Through the Spirit and through the Son

Verse 4:
Holy Father, send your church
To the peoples of the earth
That you might save them from their sin
Through your word and by your Son

Verse 5:
Holy Father, raise your church
Up to heaven to see your Son
In all his glory, in all his might
And live forever, with great joy
