Listen "PDC Deck Shenanigans Ep 2 - Turbo Reanimator"
Episode Synopsis
🚫👀 Nightkin Ambusher's Turbo Reanimator Most warriors will still remember when we created Turbo Seer during the last season, lashing it out in the playoffs and leading inevitably to its banning come mid-season. Well, PDC Season 3 is live and episodes are rolling every other week—perfect timing for a deck that punishes unprepared starts. Nightkin Ambusher is the centerpiece of a new Dimir turbo–reanimator shell that wins by getting him down fast, locking combat with built-in protection, and backing the pressure with a brutal graveyard plan. Yes, you read it right we have a new turbo PDC deck baby! Why Nightkin Ambusher is a Nightmare?Ward 2 makes one-for-ones awkward and tempo-negative for opponents.ETB: give a player four RAD counters; Ambusher can’t be blocked if the defending player has a RAD counter. That means the turn he lands, your clock turns “unblockable” vs the marked player and stays that way as long as they keep any RAD counters. RAD counters—What They Actually Do?RAD counters sit on players. At the beginning of a player’s precombat main phase, that player mills cards equal to the RAD counters they have. For each nonland card milled this way, they lose 1 life and remove a RAD counter. So Ambusher loads them up; their own upkeep cadence bleeds life and sheds counters over time—unless you add more. The Turbo Plan (yes, even Turn One!)This list can deploy Ambusher as early as turn one with the right draw: Island → Lotus Petal (sac for B) → Dark Ritual (BBB). Or even on turn 2 Swamp → one Creature example Faerie Seer and then Swamp (use B) → Culling the Weak (sac Seer, +BBBB). You still have U from Island + plenty of B, so you cast Nightkin Ambusher (2UB) immediately. Now your opponent starts their game with four RAD counters and an unblockable, warded threat. 😈The Shell Around the ThreatReanimation & Big Bodies: Exhume and Dread Return power out haymakers like Ulamog’s Crusher, Gloomfang Mauler, Troll of Khazad-dûm, Twisted Abomination, and Marauding Brinefang when Ambusher draws heat.Fill & Find: Forbidden Alchemy, Rain of Revelation, Sign in Blood dig; Muddle the Mixture and Dimir Infiltrator tutor key twos (e.g., Exhume, Chainer’s Edict, Counterspell).Interaction that buys time: Counterspell, Logic Knot, Psychic Strike on the stack; Bile Blight, Echoing Decay, Cast Down, Chainer’s Edict for removal on board. Suffocating Fumes and Arms of Hadar for sweeper. Utter Insignificance shrinks problem boards to 1/1 at instant speed and can be cashed in later to exile—great against huge threats.Sticky value & velocity: Cheap evasives (Faerie Seer, Silver Raven, Tormented Soul, Changeling Outcast) enable early chip, block Culling lines, and feed delve for Treasure Cruise. Flood of Recollection and Archaeomancer rebuy the best spells.Game Plan in Two BeatsAmbusher first: Mulligan like you mean it. Look for fast mana (Lotus Petal, Dark Ritual, Culling the Weak) or a clean turn-two setup. Mark an opponent with RAD and start swinging unblockable with Ward 2.Reanimate second: If Ambusher gets taxed or traded, pivot—bin a fatty and Exhume on the cheap. The deck seamlessly swaps from tempo to inevitability.Season 3 Meta NoteAmbusher punishes slow hands and sorcery-speed removal. Ward 2 blunts single answers, and the RAD clock + unblockable body ensures pressure while your counters and edicts keep the board honest. With PDC Season 3 episodes dropping every other week, this is exactly the kind of proactive, disruptive strategy that farms early-round stumbles and converts small edges into free wins.Ready to slip through the cracks? Sleeve up Nightkin, practice your turbo lines, and start marking foes radioactive. ☢️💀#PauperDuelCommander #PDCS3 #Dimir #TurboReanimator #NightkinAmbusher #MTGPauper #RADCounters #Unblockable #Ward2
