Talked with Randy Scheid from Quantum Foundation and James Gavrilos from the Education Foundation. Quantum is the foundation created from the proceeds of JFK sale and they fund multiple non-profits in the county with focus on Health issues. Groups can apply online for a grant and Quantum does quarterly reviews. Charities can go to www.quantumfnd.org for more info. The Education Foundation is one of the recipients of a grant this year. They are the fundraising/non-profit arm of the PBC county schools. This grant is for medical simulators for students in the healthcare/medical programs. They actually have models that simulate different illness/disease to help the students get hands on training.
