Psalm, Chapter 17Prayer for Protection against Oppressors.A Prayer of David.17 Hear a just cause, Lord, give Your attention to my cry; Listen to my prayer, which is not from deceitful lips.- In chapter 16 we were convinced that our future is secure in Christ our portion- Our inheritance was guaranteed by the cup (the blood of the lamb)- Now in chapter 17, David is back asking for protection again- It seems David had a lot of spiritual attack and he had to go the Lord with it regularlyo Don’t think it strange as some odd thing is happening to you when this occurs 1 Peter 4:12-19- Hear a just cause, Lord, give Your attention to my cryo David wants the Lord to hear a just cause (he wants to tell God the story) Sometimes healing begins when we get to tell our side of the story David needed to get this off his chesto Notice that David thinks “it’s a just cause” that he wants to talk about We always think our cause is just- Lord, give Your attention to my cryo David wants God’s attention (like incline your ear)- Listen to my prayero A prayer is a dialogue with god (it’s not a ATM machine)o You should pray and you should listen to His will- Which is not from deceitful lipso David is confirming that he is speaking truth (unlike others)o This is why he think God will listenIntro to Outbless Weekly Thanks for listening to Outbless.com
