The Lord a Refuge and Defense11 In the Lord I take refuge; How can you say to my soul, “Flee as a bird to your mountain;- The title of this Psalm The Lord a Refuge and Defenseo It is a matter of fact and declared accordingly- It was for the choir directoro The choir director is the man in charge of praiseo The man tasks with encouraging God’s people to rise to their feet and signo The man tasks with organizing those who play instruments to harmonize- Even men appointed to lead the church may sometime have doubtso And this Psalm begins with doubt- In the Lord, I take refugeo That means David runs to the Lord for safety against wicked worldly meno It’s a personal decision for David to do soo It should become our personal decision as well- How can you say to my soulo Flee as a bird to your mountaino Birds don’t have to deal with the danger down here on earth (on the ground)o They can just lift-off and fly above the dangerous animals and terraino They do have other predators that fly but in large part they are free to fleeo When God tells you or I or David to flee to His mountain for protection and safety§ We too, might say, how can we flee as a bird§ Don’t you see what is going on down here (almost as if God doesn’t know)Intro to Outbless Weekly Thanks for listening to Outbless.com
