Xcaret Pineda was born into the game of soccer. Having a dad who loved the sport made training easy for Pineda and her four siblings. It also made it competitive. Pineda's oldest brother signed with the Chicago Fire of the MLS straight out of high school. Her next oldest siblings went on to play for Notre Dame and UNC. Many expected her to follow them to the ACC. Instead, she chose to forge her own path in Stillwater. Pineda played in all 19 games last year as a true freshman. She started in 17.
