Listen "BEST OF THE POKES POD: Mike Gundy (Part 2)"
Episode Synopsis
Original Episode Synopsis: Mike Gundy ended his Oklahoma State playing career with an incredible 23 school records. He helped lead the Cowboys to two bowl wins and two 10-win seasons. With no pro career in the cards, he immediately turned to coaching, joining Pat Jones' staff upon graduating. Gundy's coaching journey is one of hard work, determination, and never giving up…even when it would've been easy to call it quits. It wasn't until 2002—Gundy's second season after returning to the Cowboys from stops at Baylor and Maryland—that he finally tasted the success of a winning season. Gundy would serve four years as the offensive coordinator under Les Miles before getting the call to lead the program on his own as the 22nd head coach in Cowboy football history. Now in his 18th season, Gundy is the second-longest tenured coach in college football, trailing only Iowa's Kirk Ferentz. And with seven 10-win seasons under his belt, he's proving to be the best to ever do it at OSU.
