Episode Synopsis

In the Torah, we learn that Pharaoh would go to the Nile early in the morning to present himself as a god before his people. But there was more to his actions—he used this time to hide his human vulnerabilities, reinforcing his image as divine. When Moshe confronted Pharaoh at the Nile during this private moment, it was a powerful message: Your secret is exposed. You are no god; you are just a man.

This confrontation wasn’t just about Pharaoh. It was about demonstrating the supremacy of the Almighty over all false deities, reminding us that nothing can take His place.

A Question for Reflection

Pharaoh’s story invites us to reflect: Are there “hidden gods” in our own lives?

✡️ Is there something that takes your mind or heart away from Hashem?
✡️ It could be work, relationships, technology, or even your own ego.

A deity, in this sense, is anything that competes with God’s rightful place in your life. Identifying and addressing these distractions is an important step in putting Hashem above all.

A Call to Reprioritize

As we prepare for Shabbat, let’s examine our priorities. What are the things we may unintentionally elevate above our Creator? How can we ensure that He remains at the center of our lives?

By removing distractions and false “gods,” we can realign our focus and walk closer with the Almighty.
