We’re blessed with a Lozano trio this second week of Lent as Jenn, Matt, and Janet discuss a story found in three of the four gospels. It’s about a boy who suffered from an evil spirit that would cast him to the ground, cause him to foam at the mouth, and even throw him into the fire! This story embodies healing — physical healing of the boy but also the healing exchange between the boy’s father and Jesus. Desperate, the boy’s father cried out to Jesus, “Have compassion on us!” He included himself in the request. And Jesus’ mercy shows in His response which resulted in the father’s words that have resonated through the ages, “I do believe, help my unbelief!” Human interaction was so important to Jesus.
