Describing and developing a character is one of the more exciting aspects of writing. However, there are pitfalls along the way. As an editor and beta-reader there are two concepts that I have discovered that help us create characters, but ones that can also lead to prejudice if you aren't mindful: default and gestalt.  I hope you enjoy!
