Listen "#27 | When Sin Came Knocking"

Episode Synopsis

In this episode we look at how evil mutates in the second generation from Adam and Eve. If evil is a kind of deficit, dysfunction, or damage then the murder of Abel by his brother Cain qualifies for all three. But evil doesn't just show up in the murder, it also shows up in situation surrounding the offering of Cain, God's response to it, and Cain's response to God. The entire story is highly relational, but the most encouraging thing is that we see the same God in Genesis 4 as we do in Genesis 2 and 3 - he is the God who wants to meet with us and Father us into maturity.
Key Passages

1 John 3:10-16
The Hebrew term for face can also mean presence, or before or in front of, and can function as a triple entendre to emphasize relational dynamics.
