In this episode we finish up our look at the Israelites' struggle to believe the word of God's promise. We primarily focus on how to approach God for strength when we find ourselves struggling to have faith. The writer of Hebrews thinks it's important for us to recognize that Jesus himself struggled to believe God's promise in his own life. Jesus, too, had to go to God to receive help in his time of need so that his faith could be strengthened by the words God spoke to him. This is precisely why Jesus can serve as our High Priest. He passed through the same kinds of struggles we do, but he was able to respond differently to those struggles by drawing strength and empowerment from God.
When we are going through a difficult time, and our faith is being stretched, we can go to God to receive a word form him that cuts right to the source of our anxiety and fear. God will not reject us when we go to him for strength. He will have mercy on us and empower us to trust in him to keep moving towards the promise land.
