She was also an on-air announcer for several radio stations in Maryland. Shanera has also worked for various non-profit organizations throughout her career. She spent 10 years with the Impact Movement, working as a chaplain on several college campuses. Shanera earned a degree in Broadcast Journalism from Howard University. She’s been married to her college sweetheart, Jim, for 30 years.
