Listen "Spiritual Practice For Crazy Times with Philip Goldberg and Patricia Falco Beccalli"
Episode Synopsis
Do you sometimes feel that life has become almost too complicated – not to say crazy - And not just since the onset of the Covid19 Pandemic… Just a zap through the TV programs and we are inundated with news about: devastating floods and wild fires, hurricanes sweeping away millions of homes, Anti-Semitism and Racism and Pro-Democratic Demonstrations - be it in HK, Israel or Belarus. What about Brexit, Trade Wars and North Korea pushing for nuclear supremacy…the ice caps melting, soon more microplastic in our food than micronutrients…We hear about a stark rise in suicides (esp. women) and drug abuse…and I could go on and on…
In his book he writes: ‘Spiritual Practice for Crazy Times’ has the tools and techniques you need to access the sanctuary of peace and fortress of strength within you—at a moment’s notice, in whatever time you have. We all have the sanctuary within us, question is how to access it!’ He means that we are actually all already in peace within, just being distracted by the madness around us. We must learn to be part of the world but not off it, i.e. healthy sense of detachment is necessary to keep ones calm and center.
Philips book is a collection of hands on tools like breathing, sensing, laughing, offering a path to calm down and face whatever we need to face in a conducive way. About Philip: He’s been studying the world’s spiritual traditions for more than 45 years. He’s the author or co-author of some 25 books published in more than a dozen languages.
