I am aware that the Bible says to practice spiritual things in private, and make it between God and yourself (Matthew 6:6, 17-18) and if this appears to disobey that, please hear my heart. I made this episode to shine a light on a not-so-common spiritual practice in American Christianity. It’s something deeply woven into the spiritual life of Nigerians and other ethnic backgrounds. It’s something I’ve always found extremely challenging. My motive is simply awareness, self-reflection, and hopefully, someone will resonate with my experience and be encouraged.
