Fran Alonso finds himself on the brink of history this weekend as he takes the Celtic Women’s team into their final fixture of the season with the chance to secure a Champions League spot for next season.

Celtic travel to Motherwell for the season finale tomorrow (Sunday) knowing a win would guarantee them a place in the Champions League next season.

The Hoops are currently two points ahead of third place Rangers and three behind leaders Glasgow City in the Scottish Women’s Premier League, and a top-two finish will be enough to see the team realise their dream of playing in Europe’s most prestigious club competition.

Speaking to the Celtic View podcast ahead of Sunday’s game, Fran Alonso said his players were well prepared for their final challenge of what has been an incredible campaign.
