With the increasing publicity and interest in novel approaches for Total Hip Arthroplasty, many surgeons are feeling pressure to make changes to their practice. The pathway to change includes many obstacles for surgeons working in a non-academic environment including but not limited to: taking time from a busy practice, finding good mentors, altering hospital protocols, and overcoming the learning curve. But what does the evidence tell us? Are the outcomes really that much different to support the appetite for change?
