In this episode we kick off our “Nursing in the Community” series through an interview with Elizabeth Kaufman, Auburn City Therapeutic Programs Coordinator and Lee County Special Olympics Director. We discuss the partnership Elizabeth initiated with Auburn School of Nursing and her dedication to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). We also discuss why it’s important for members of the healthcare team to work alongside individuals with IDD, and how we can offer support to caregivers.
