Listen "What is long Covid?"
Episode Synopsis
Millions of Americans have recovered from mild cases of Covid-19, only to later experience a range of debilitating, chronic symptoms of the virus. In this episode, we look beyond the daily pandemic headlines and turn our attention to one group suffering from a different kind of epidemic: people with long-haul Covid-19. What is it? What causes it? Who is susceptible and where does research into possible treatments stand? And what does recovery look like? Dr. Jason Maley provides answers. He is an attending physician in the Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. A lecturer at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Dr. Maley is also an instructor in medicine at Harvard Medical School. He received his medical degree from the Tulane University School of Medicine, became a resident at the University of Pennsylvania hospital and earned a fellowship at the Massachusetts General Hospital.Dr. Jason MaleyTwitter: twitter.com/JHMaleyYou can follow Jessica Yellin here:Instagram: instagram.com/jessicayellinTwitter: twitter.com/jessicayellinFacebook: facebook.com/newsnotnoiseWebsite: NewsNotNoise.comNewsletter: newsnotnoise.bulletin.comSupport this work:patreon.com/NewsNotNoiseJessica Yellin is the founder of News Not Noise, a channel dedicated to giving you news with real experts and providing information, not a panic attack.
