Can you think back to any times where you felt like an outsider? Are there any times in your life now where you feel like an outsider? Where do you belong? Who do you belong with? Who do you belong to?

The Bible regularly refers to the followers of Jesus, the people of God as exiles, foreigners, sojourners, outsiders, citizens of another country, travelers, strangers, and resident aliens. Is this how you identify yourself as a Christian? Do you feel like you don't belong in this world, that you don't fit in, like you are an outsider?

We might not belong in this world, but the people of God should have a greater sense of belonging than anyone else on earth! We belong to an omnipresent God and to His people who are everywhere around the world! We are part of the family of God! We are part of the nation of God! We are a people, a race, a holy priesthood! 

So, while we may not fit in with the values or customs of this world, we are a part of a far better world, based on the awe-inspiring love and power and presence of God! We belong...no matter where we are! We belong to Him...together!
