We often make decisions from two choices: shall I do this or shall I do that? Jesus said in Matthew 16:24 that we should give up all rights to ourselves if we are to follow Him. Shall we flee from Jesus and the very real demands He makes towards us or shall we meet Jesus at the cross and die to ourselves there? We all have that choice every day of our lives. In this Talk we think about the commands Jesus gives, especially considering how four people in the Bible chose to die to themselves. The cross was a terrible physical place to visit. We can only truly bear the cross because we are whole-heartedly following Jesus as our Saviour and Lord.
