It's been said that "If Jesus isn’t the center of your world you will put something else in his place."  The things that you replace Jesus with will let you down and not last forever.  C.S. Lewis has said "The first step towards hell is pride. The first step towards Heaven is humility. Pride is the national religion of hell!" The problem with pride is that we just can't "sniff it out"!  It's like bad breath, everyone know you've got a problem except for yourself!
