De Hong, co-founder of the Engaged Buddhist Alliance since 2013, has volunteered in several California state prisons teaching trauma-informed Buddhist psychology and mindfulness meditations. De has taught Buddhist Psychology (graduate & undergraduate), and Integrative Psychology of Living and Dying at the University of the West since 2016. He holds an MA and PhD in Buddhist Studies from UWest in 2010 and 2015 respectively. The topic of the dissertation is, “Development of Buddhist Repentance in Early Medieval China.” De has been ordained as a bhikkhu in the Chan Tradition since 2006 and the Theravada Tradition under Khippa Panno since 2014.
