We are going through a sermon series titled: Are you convinced?
In this Sermon Series, we are trying to answer the following questions:

What would make the heroes of the faith in the Bible to be totally sold out to God even at a huge cost to themselves?

What makes people do anything for God?

What makes people love God with all their hearts?


We started off last week by asking: Are you convinced that Yahweh is God?
Part of the reason why these heroes of the faith lived the way they did is because they were convinced that Yahweh is God and their life showed it.
In Genesis 26:1-11, we saw the story of how Isaac lied to King Abimelech that Rebecca was his sister. Then one day the king saw Isaac caressing Rebecca and he quickly realized Isaac's lie. 
We agreed that just like in this scenario, it is not about calling Yahweh our God, it’s about what we do and how we live our lives that testifies that Yahweh is our God.
We said that if Yahweh is truly your God, then we will do some things without anyone needing to encourage us to do them;

We will revere Him 

We will honor Him 

We will Worship Him 

We will serve Him 

We will do everything for his glory

We will love Him which is shown in obeying Him

He will be our first priority in life and so we will seek Him.


If this does not describe what you do for Yahweh, then your actions betray you. Your actions, which speak louder than words say that Yahweh is not really God to you.
Possibly you look at Him as a spare tire.
You never need anyone to convince you to feed your children or buy them clothes because you know they are yours. If Yahweh is truly your God, you don't need anyone to convince you to do what He wants you to do. This is because the love of Christ compels you.
