Episode Synopsis

Hello and welcome to this week's episode of My Big Idea, an ASOS podcast giving young women advice and inspiration to start their own businesses. Our host Lucinda Greasley speaks with the founders of Career Girl Daily, an award winning online destination for young, career-minded women. Career Girl Daily is the creation of two girls who decided to work together and create an online lifestyle guide for young, career-minded women. They loved the idea of talking with other women about their careers and goals in life, but in a more ‘feminine’ way. Now a team of three ambitious girls, they cover the lifestyle of female entrepreneurs, career women and young girls at the beginning of their career. The site was founded in 2015 by Beth, Lois and Celina. Celina came to the realisation that she wanted to pursue a career in fashion after going to university to study law, an option she thought would be a 'safe bet'. She now has a degree in International Business Administration, and is a certified personal stylist. Celine and Lois were inspired by their previous career adventures and by Emma Watson's famous speech to start Career Girls Daily, 'a place where Career Girls in heels come together'. Lois did a Bachelor in Law, specialized in Business Administration and Marketing after leaving school and, afterwards decided to move to London and do a Master in PR. Now Lois works as a community manager for large brands and manages Career Girl Daily. Beth studied English Literature at university and whilst there, launched a digital magazine showcasing young creative people’s work. Lois now is a part of the Penguin Random House Writers’ Academy and is working on refining her first novel. The three's goal is, through Career Girl Daily, to empower women and motivate career girls to chase their dreams. This is Career Girl Daily's big idea.
