Ernie Cefalu began his career as an advertising executive in the late 1960s and quickly drew himself into music history. They say timing is everything and for Ernie he swears by it, a lucky break put him in the right place at the right time. This encounter led him to influencing the design of one of the most iconic album covers ever. His higher ups recognized his talent and so did those who were their clients. 
Within a short period of time, Ernie became well known for his artistic design sense and ability to manage projects. After attaining his life long dream of working on Madison Avenue in New York, Ernie returned home and started "Pacific Eye & Ear" as his own shop. He and his team quickly became the pre-eminent album cover design firms in the country. 
Cefalu has received three Grammy nominations and ten Music Hall of Fame Awards for his album cover work. The accolades are many and yet, Cefalu consistently points to lucky timing and his teams for his achieving so many successes. His could talk a dog of a meat wagon and fills this episode with so many stories and lessons learned from his years of moving and shaking in the ad world.
