Listen "MTalks—Fabrication Futures"
Episode Synopsis
Significant research and experimentation are taking place across the globe in the domain of new fabrication processes, prototyping studies and technical advances at the scale of facades, pavilions, structures and buildings. These trajectories are diverse and disparate, working with new materials, new technologies, new computational systems and multidisciplinary coalitions.
Prof Philippe Block of ETH is in the forefront of these advances and is visiting Melbourne as the Treseder Fellow at University of Melbourne and in conjunction with Melbourne Design Week. This provides the opportunity to provide a public conversation on Fabrication Futures, with a panel drawn from the design faculties of University of Melbourne, RMIT University and Swinburne University of Technology, where similar, yet different investigations are being undertaken in Australia.
