We spent time talking about getting released from prison and some of the challenges with that. Pager (2003) shares some of the challenges that people face after incarceration. My father wasn’t Black, but all of the problems in the prison system are exacerbated in the Black and ethnic minority communities that it is crucial to understanding. Writing in the Atlantic, Coats (2015) provides some meaningful context to this plight.
