Ruth 4:1-22 --
Boaz approaches the redeemer closer to Elimelech and asks him to fulfill his duties as a kinsman-redeemer. When the nameless one foregoes his duty, Boaz gladly bears the cost of redeeming Elimelech’s line. God worked through Boaz to provide all that Naomi needed, and gives us a picture of his continuing work of provision and redemption for God’s people with King David. Even more broadly, God fulfills his promise to redeem all of creation through the greater king Jesus, who came from the line of David.
