The thing is that Lesotho has been having internal conversations about reclaiming land that was annexed by the by the Afrikaner/Boer and British republics from its territories roughly 140 years ago. The only issue is that those republics don’t exist anymore and with time, lines on a map become permanent and harder to redraw.

The ongoing debate is Lesotho wants to reclaim all of Free State province, which at 130,000 square kilometres and is more than four times the size of the kingdom, as well parts of four other provinces bordering the landlocked state.

Large parts of the population in these areas are from the same Basotho nation which also makes up Lesotho's 2 million-strong population. In fact, there are around twice as many(around 4m) Basotho who live in South Africa as in Lesotho.
