Happiness is a lie. Excitement is the ultimate goal.One of the biggest lies that we have been sold is this ideal of “the pursuit of happiness.” After we uptake a belief system that we SHOULD be “happy,” we — our ego — program ourselves to CHASE IT DOWN. Yet happiness never actually arrives… not completely or continuously, anyways. It’s always fleeting, isn’t it? That’s because it doesn’t really exist. Happiness is an illusion. Instead, it’s fulfillment, purpose and self-actualization we desire.These are much more tangible, recognizable pillars and they’re each a direct conduit to tapping into the love frequency — not HAPPINESS, but LOVE. One is a fallacy, one is more real than real. Love is NOT necessarily happiness. Love is simply the embodiment of actualization and purposefulness and fulfillment at once. How do we achieve those things?I’ve identified three pillars that tie directly into them:1. Excitement. Life is meant to be lives doing things that get us amped and inspired.2. Contribution. We need to feel a sense of belonging — we need validation, relationship and community.3. A diversity of experience. We need routine mixed in with continuous variation and newness.These things are MUCH more definable and recognizable than this blanket statement of “find happiness.” These things are the meaning to life itself — not playing ping pong inside of this closed-loop binary circuit of “happy” vs “unhappy,” forever swaying from one side to the other. That’s bullshit.So, I’m opting out of the inner dialogue of “what makes me happy.” Because the answer, regardless of what I’ve come up with up until now, always leaves me wanting more and never satisfies me.
