We have had an onslaught of life-threatening pandemics almost every century crippling the society at large. With globalization its reach grew larger and the spread was faster. Yet our reaction across the world over centuries has been surprisingly similar. 
Here is an attempt to draw a parallel between the Great Plague of London of 1665 as reported by Daniel Defoe and COVID 19 of the present century.
