Listen "God's Elect Exiles (1 Peter 1:1,2)"
Episode Synopsis
On October 20, 2019, Rev. Robert Mossotti preached on God's elect exiles from 1 Peter 1:1,2.
First Peter was written to Christians living in an environment such as ours. It was written to remind Christians who they are, and what they must do to remain who they are in a world filled with trials, with constant temptations to ungodliness, and to conformity to this present evil age.
Peter’s first letter can be divided into three overarching themes:
1. Christians are God’s chosen people elected to a high, divine purpose.
2. An exhortation to be holy in the midst of an ungodly and pagan world.
3. Taking up our cross and following after Christ’s pattern of life. Submitting to share in his sufferings, in order to share in his glory.
